| Originally from Springfield, Virginia, Jessica has called Arizona
home for 12 years. In 1997, Jessica made a lifelong dream a reality and
competed in, and won, her first pageant, Miss Arizona USA! Named spokesperson
for the Arizona Chapter of the (NCPCA) National Committee to Prevent
Child Abuse, now known as PCA (Prevent Child Abuse America), Jessica
traveled extensively around the state of Arizona speaking to children,
parents and parents-to-be about the importance of stopping the abuse.
Since then Jessica has won the title of Mrs. Arizona United States 2001
and then went on to win her third state title of Mrs. Arizona International
in 2004. With that title she went on to place in the top ten at the international
pageant. Using the notoriety all of her titles provided, Jessica has
worked as an advocate for child abuse prevention and awareness as well
as giving her time to many other causes (see Giving
Back). Jessica also helped the cause by serving as board secretary for Child Abuse Prevention Arizona for several years. Jessica ran a successful pageant consulting business for several years and is also an experienced pageant judge. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Arizona State University. Combining her love of writing and pageants, Jessica decided to write the book, and hopes that it helps women everywhere who dream of competing, winning and then making a difference for causes they are passionate about. Jessica takes her advocacy for child abuse prevention and awareness seriously and says that. “Being a part of the solution for child abuse is not just a platform for me, but a monumental part of my life.” |
